Beneficiaries
THE beneficiaries must be residential consumers placed in their residence (and not in a professional field) electric water heater, be born before the 1THE January 2006 and permanent resident in Greece.
While it is specified that:
- Beneficiaries whose average annual income per family member exceeds 30,000 euros are not eligible.
- It is not possible to presentation of the request For households, who have submitted an application or joined another energy saving program, such as “Execonomou – Autonomou” or “Execonomou 2021”.
It is specified that the final selection of beneficiaries will result from a combination of economic and social criteria, such as the average annual income per family member, but also for families with disabled members, single-parent families with at least one dependent child and families with dependent members.
Provide the subsidy for the purchase of a new solar water heater it is mandatory to remove for recycling the old water heaters that are replacedwhose characteristics are:
- Be functional before their withdrawal
- Before their replacement, they must be placed in the residence declared in the financing application
- Be electric water heaters with a capacity ≥ 40 liters
Ranking criteria
The final selection of beneficiaries will result from a combination of economic and social criteria:
- Average annual income per family member
- Families with disabled members
- Single-parent families with at least one dependent child
- Families with dependent members
Reinforcement height
- The subsidy is up to 60% the purchase cost of each new solar water heater
- Each beneficiary will receive a voucher that they can redeem with a supplier of their choice
- Installation costs are also included in the maximum grant amount for beneficiaries
- The final value of each check depends on the characteristics of the solar water heater (capacity of the hot water tank), its purchase price and is determined as follows:

How are you going to apply?
Individuals wishing to participate in the Program submit a funding request via:
- of the unified digital portal of public administration (gov.gr) of article 22 of law 4727/2020, or
- In order to submit the application, the prior identification of the applicant is required using the personal identification information of the General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems of the Ministry of Digital Governance (taxisnet), in accordance with Article 24 of Law 4727/2020 (A ‘ 184 ).
After identification, the applicant submits an application indicating – among other things –
• the 11-digit electrical supply number of the house in which the water heater to be replaced is installed,
• that a solar water heater can be installed in his residence and that there is no restriction by operating regulations (for example, apartment building regulations, building operating regulations, etc.),
• the presence or absence of a disabled member in the family, allowing cross-checking on a case-by-case basis with data from the Handicap Certification Center (KEPA) or alternatively, by presenting a corresponding notice or certificate of a disability certification health committee or other competent authority, which by law must still exercise its powers,
• a unique mobile phone number which will be certified by sending a one-time use code (OTP), which will be used after any approval of the funding request to send the voucher code, but also for any communication associated with the beneficiary. If available, a personal e-mail account can also be declared.
The applicant also confirms the data which are automatically pulled from third-party services and state records related to its request.
The funding request is processed on the basis
- the data declared-provided by the applicant,
- electronic cross-checks with information from third-party services and state records, to confirm eligibility criteria and calculate selection/ranking criteria for the specific application.
How is recycling done?
Each beneficiary who purchases a new solar water heater with a grant is required to return the old water heater to the supplier for recycling. Delivery is always made to the retailer from which the new solar water heater will be purchased or has already been purchased.
The beneficiary delivers the old water heater for recycling:
- to a repair shop or an associate of the retailer, who picks it up at their home. Collection can be made at the time of delivery of the new solar water heater or during a separate visit,
- alternatively, directly to a facility (store, warehouse) of the reseller, when transportation to this location is at the recipient’s expense.
The choice of time and place of delivery-receipt of the old water heater to be recycled depends on the agreement that the two parties will make and does not concern the Program. The costs of transport, placement, collection, etc. are not eligible for a grant.
