Solar water heater: The “Change water heater” platform on gov.gr is open, but has a time limit expiring. See all the latest data on the grant which reaches up to 900 euros.
THE the “I change the water heater” program has a special appealbecause it gives thousands of households the opportunity to energy-efficiently modernize their homes with a solar water heater installation at a particularly low price thanks to the subsidy and to invest in long-term money savings.
Initially, of the approximately 3 million interested households, only 120,000 will be able to obtain the coveted good for replacing the electric water heater they have. After all, this is one of the basic conditions of the program: having a uniform electric water heater with a capacity of at least 40 liters.
However, this does not mean that you should not take the opportunity to express your interest, as long as you meet the basic criteria, even if you are not on the first list to receive the SMS with the voucher.
As with “Switch device”, more funds will slowly be released, and therefore more people will enter the grant. You have to be careful because apps expire, maybe earlier than expected.
The platform allazothermosifona.gov.gr the acceptance of applications will be open until June 20, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. After that, it will not reopen and you will not be able to apply.
Since, in fact, the market for solar water heaters has taken over and the cost has increased after the announcement of the program, even if the finances do not work out, it would be good to apply and if you receive good , it is not compulsory to use it.

By participating, each beneficiary of the Program declares the explicit acceptance of the obligation to deliver the old water heater to the retailer from whom he also obtains the new subsidized water heater.
In particular, the subsidy is authorized:
- New solar water heater to replace the old electric water heater, only if the old water heater to be removed has a capacity equal to or greater than forty (40) liters.
The water heaters to be recycled must be at the same level. Also, before their replacement, they must have been placed in the residence declared in the financing application.
