“Unlock” the “Photovoltaic on the Roof” program: The amounts of the subsidy

“Unlock” the “Photovoltaic on the Roof” program: The amounts of the subsidy

The subsidy for the purchase of photovoltaic systems and the procedure for submitting the corresponding applications have been “unblocked”: The state subsidy for photovoltaic reaches up to 75% for households with a maximum amount of 16,000 euros and 60% for farmers, with a limit of 10,000 euros. The cost of its purchase is estimated at 18,000 euros “turnkey”, panel and battery assembly that stores energy. The solar water heater program goes back a little further in time.

Vangelis Durakis writes

In any case, the purchase cost of photovoltaics also depends on the power, i.e. the efficiency, of the system: However, for someone to get state money to buy the system, DEDDIE must first have given the “green light” for the connection.

What the program subsidizes and how much solar energy costs

Thus, all projects that have received a connection agreement will be eligible, as well as a basic condition for submitting an application is that the applicant has already signed a connection agreement with DEDDIE but that the photovoltaic station has not been connected. The electrical space for small photovoltaics is reserved from the date of entry into force of the Connection Contract, for the benefit of the producer, for 12 months if no work is to be planned in the high or medium voltage substations, or for two years if work is to be expected.

Essentially, anyone who joins the program will generate and store their own electricity and the charge on their bill will be zero for energy.

Those who install their photovoltaic themselves will only pay the municipal fees and part of the regulated charges.

  • For households a subsidy will be granted up to 75% of the expenses that will be made for the purchase of photovoltaic or up to 16,000 euro. Of course, for a person to reach the specific amount, there will be specific criteria depending on income, if someone is from a single parent family, if they have many children, etc.
  • Farmers they will receive up to 60% of the cost or up to 10,000 euros.

But how much does the installation of a photovoltaic system cost?; If it is a 5 KWp photovoltaic, the “turnkey” cost is estimated at 9,000 euros, and if it is a 10.8 KWp, it costs 18,000 euros.

The maximum installed capacity of the photovoltaic plant to be subsidized is however set at 10.8kW. Thus, regarding the battery, the maximum subsidy is set at 10.8 kWh.

The battery should be able to power the RES station for at least one hour.

Households will be obliged to install a photovoltaic station with battery, while farmers will have the option of installing a photovoltaic station with or without a battery.

What expenses are considered eligible

A basic condition for submitting an application is that the applicant has already concluded a connection agreement with DEDDIE but the photovoltaic station has not been connected. Any natural person can file a single request, for a single residenceprimary or secondary – which has an active domestic power supply. Farmers can apply for their residency And a single request concerning the supply of electricity for rural use.

The eligible costs of this program are as follows:

  • Supply and installation of PV panels, inverter, as well as accessory materials (panels, cables, etc.)
  • Supply and installation of the basic system.
  • Supply and installation of a PV meter.
  • Supply and installation of the storage system as well as accessory materials (panels, cables, etc.)
  • Costs of study – sizing of the system (Photovoltaic and battery) and its installation work.

The program of a solar water heater also “opens”.

After the “opening” of the program for photovoltaics, time is running out for the activation of the program through which the purchase of a solar water heater is subsidized, with amounts starting at 510 euros and reaching up to 904 euros : The “fine print” of course … there are no shortages that every interested party should pay attention to before making their “move”. One of them is the obligation to recycle the old electric water heater, which must be of a certain…capacity!

Which water heaters are subsidized to … retire

The “Recycle-Change water heater” program will cover up to 60% of the cost of acquiring a solar water heater and the subsidies will be scalable with income and social criteria.

But in order to be able to subsidize the purchase of a new solar water heater, it is obligatory to withdraw for recycling the old water heaters which are replaced.

Water heaters to be recycled must:

  • Be functional prior to removal, which will be confirmed after a general visual inspection.
  • Before being replaced, they must be placed in the residence declared in the financing application.
  • Be electric water heaters with a capacity ≥ 40 liters.
