After Costa Navarino, Mandarin Oriental is taking over the management of one of the four hotels to be built on the site of the former Elliniko airport. It is one of the two hotels that TEMES and Lamda Development will jointly develop and, based on the 2020 agreement, it will have a capacity of 123 rooms and suites, as well as 17 luxury houses/apartments (branded residences ).

Furthermore, the agreement includes the development of an additional hotel, with a capacity of 200 rooms, and an additional residential complex of 49 branded houses/apartments, next to the modernized marina of Agios Kosmas.

The total cost of the investment is estimated to be higher than the initial budget of 300 million euros and is now estimated at around 500 million euros.

The other two hotels concern the unit that will be developed in the mixed-use Pyrgos, in collaboration with Brook Lane Capital, an investment estimated at more than 200 million euros, and the unit that will be created in the casino, a mega project of GEK TERNA and the American Hard Rock, for an amount of more than 1 billion euros.

One&Only Aesthetics and glamping by Grivalia

In August, One&Only Aesthesis (formerly Asteria Glyfadas) will launch its pilot operation on the Attica beachfront, an investment by Grivalia Hospitality, for a total amount of 300 million euros. As an indication, the cost per key has been set at 1.2 million euros. The super luxury unit, which will start receiving its guests from October, will include 128 keys (suites, villas and rooms) and will employ 400 people.

A little further south, the Voula project by Grivalia consists of creating a new product for the Attica, a luxury “camping” or glamping. Based on the investment plan of Grivalia Hospitality, the project will be implemented on an area of ​​45 acres and will include 30 luxury tents, dining rooms, Beach Club, Kids-Club and Private Members Club, 8 tennis and 2 small courts, Club Maison, Spa and gym and shopping. The cost of the investment amounts to approximately 9.7 million euros.

In Glyfada the Thai brand Dusit, via Egyptian funds

In Glyfada, opposite One&Only Aesthesis, the famous Thai hotel brand Dusit opened this year. This is the revival of the historic John’s Hotel, a 15 million euro investment, by Egyptian businessman Emad el Hazek. With 36 suite rooms, the famous Namm spa and the Asian restaurant DAO, this is the Asian brand’s first arrival in Greece.

The Israeli company has undertaken the restoration of an abandoned two-building complex with panoramic views, covering 33 acres, and will create 179 suites and rooms, a rooftop swimming pool, a spa, gyms, as well as conference rooms. for 500 people.

This is an investment of 840 million euros by the company Beta Real Estate Development SA, which has been approved by the Interministerial Committee for Strategic Investments and will concern the tourist development of land belonging to the construction cooperative “I Hygeia ” and other nearby land. The project, which should be delivered by 2030, will include a tourist accommodation complex, a tourist village, a marina and a heliport.
